A Great Lake View In A Great Location
Hello, my name is Ginny Matyska (maw-tis-ka), owner and operator of Ridgewood Resort in Isabella, MO. Isabella is in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. Ridgewood is a small, friendly, modern, six-unit resort on 10 wooded acres. Ridgewood is at the end of a peninsula overlooking the crystal clear waters of Bull Shoals Lake. If undisturbed privacy is what you're looking for while on vacation, you are reading the right Web site!  I am always happy to tell new people about Ridgewood Resort in hopes they will join the fine family of friends I have made as owner in the last 25 years.

At Ridgewood you'll find a special balance of privacy and near-by civil amenities.  The crowds are not here! With over 1000 miles of shoreline there is room for all who come to the area.  Bull Shoals Lake is truly blessed with clean, crystal clear waters that are unpolluted.

Why Guests Return to Ridgewood Resort
Most of my repeat business comes from guests who love the peace and quiet and don't want to be disturbed. Sometimes my guests ask me to take phone messages when they are standing right in front of me. Other guests unhook the TV and tell the kids it's disconnected!  Others ask if they can turn off the mercury vapor lights in the yard at night so they can  sit and relax while enjoying the stars. Others like to fish off the covered boat dock at night. They love to watch the moon coming up over the horizon or watch the mesmerizing sunsets. I emphasize peace and quiet for my guests by doing my best to accommodate these kinds of wishes. That is the beauty of staying at a small resort like mine!

Cottages
I have one and two bedroom fully equipped, tastefully decorated cottages. Each has a private bath, and separate private bedroom(s). All look out over a great view of Bull Shoals Lake. The cottages have large private screened-in porches with tables and chairs for outdoor relaxation. Many of my guests have their coffee on their porches so they can enjoy the view of Bull Shoals Lake.

Each spacious, fully furnished cottage has a large kitchen/living room with an open floor plan. The kitchens have gas stoves with oven and broiler, refrigerators with cross-top freezers, microwave ovens, electric toasters, drip coffee makers, all cooking utensils, dishes, silverware, and stainless steel double-bowl sinks. The living rooms have hide-a-bed couches, recliners or rockers, color TVs, heat, air conditioning, and window fans.  All cottages have outdoor charcoal grills for bar-b-queuing.

All linens, towels, and blankets are fresh and clean. The beds have firm, comfortable mattresses. Roll away beds and cribs are available. I also have deep freeze service for preserving your fish catch.

Ridgewood Resorts pavillion
Our pavilion also has a great lake view

Picnic Pavilion
Overlooking the lake is a covered picnic pavilion that's ideal for family reunions and get-togethers with other guests. There are overhead lights and electricity for radios, coffee pots, or deep fryers for a fish fry. There are picnic tables, lawn chairs, rockers, portable grills, Weber grills, a smoker and a brick bar-b-Que. grill. It's a great place to read, gaze at the lake, play cards or games, have a good meal, or just plain rest and relax. You can watch fantastic sunsets or sunrises, or watch the moon come up over the horizon from this pavilion.

Office
In the office I offer live bait, lures and accessories, health supplies, soda, ice, candy bars, ice cream, souvenirs, T-shirts and hats.

Resort Grounds
For children we have a playground with swing sets and a sand box. There is basketball, volleyball, and horseshoes for all ages. Ten forested acres of tall trees give children a special place to run and play.  Deer, turkey, squirrels, and other wildlife are frequently seen around the resort. Early in the morning you'll hear many songbirds. Hummingbirds are around my feeders all day.

My Location And Things To Do
You can boat or drive to Cookies Restaurant at Theodosia Marina, or Jackie's Restaurant at Pontiac Cove Marina. There are also cafes in the town of Isabella just minutes from Ridgewood. Additional restaurants, gift shops, auctions, and supermarkets are 5 miles away in Theodosia,  and in nearby Gainesville, a 13 mile drive. What ever your pleasure, whether it's a laid back vacation spent in peaceful serenity, or one filled with sightseeing, fishing, boating, canoeing, and a schedule with "lots to do, not enough days to do it in", I'll be happy to help you in any way I can. I'll help ensure that you have a memorable trip!
